The sign of the covenant is the ‘bow in the clouds’: the rainbow.
Genesis 8 tells us this took place on Mount Ararat. At the centre of the picture, the altar is depicted with a lamb upon it. The sacrificed lamb reminds us of Jesus, the
Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.
John 1 verse 29.
Just like the Ark rescued Noah from judgement, those who believe in Jesus will be saved from judgement.
The Ark is a symbol of salvation.
After the flood, Noah, his family and the animals leave the Ark. Noah builds an altar and brings an offering of ‘clean’ animals to God. God then blesses Noah and his sons and makes a covenant with them.

20 Then Noah built an altar to the LORD and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it. Genesis 9 verse 16 and 17
16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.
17 So God said to Noah: “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth".
