Healing of a leper

Mark 1:40-42

A man with leprosy came to Him and begged Him on his knees: “If You are willing, You can make me clean".
Jesus was indignant. He reached out His hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” He said. “Be clean!”
Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.

About this painting

Jesus began preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God in Galilee.
“The time has come". He said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”

The Kingdom was also demonstrated by healings Jesus performed.
A leper came to Him, whose ‘uncleanness’ isolated him completely from normal social life, and begged Him to heal him.
"I am willing". Jesus said.
“Be clean!”
The healings demonstrate that wellbeing of the body is part of the restoration of man in the Kingdom.
