About this painting
a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.
God took Abram outside and promised him offspring as numerous as the stars in the night sky. Then God made a covenant with Abram.
In Galatians 3 verse 14 we read that the blessing given to Abraham came to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus. So the promise of offspring to Abram points to Jesus, the Saviour.
Genesis 15 verse 6 says:
Abram believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.
Abram believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.
