Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.
About this painting
Abraham got his son Isaac back from death, so to speak. God now approves the faith of Abraham when He sees he is willing to offer his son. Then God provides an animal for the offering.
