Jesus arrives by ship in Capernaum. Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue, falls on his knees before Him, and begs Him to go with him to his dying 12-year-old daughter.
When news is brought from Jairus' house that his daughter has meanwhile died, Jesus encourages Jairus and tells him not to fear, but only to believe.
In both cases, the personal faith in Jesus turns out to be crucial.
Raising the dead is one of the 'signs of the Messiah'.

Daniel 12 verse 2.
It proves Jesus' power, not only over the elements of nature, demons and diseases, but also over death.
At His command, the spirit of Jairus' daughter returns to her body.
Jesus did not become unclean by touching her dead body;
Sinful existence is spiritual death.
When a person comes to faith in Jesus, he/she receives eternal life, and even though the body will die someday, the soul will live forever and will later be reunited with the body when it is raised "incorruptible".

40 Now when Jesus returned, the crowd welcomed Him, for they were all waiting for Him.
41 And there came a man named Jairus, who was a ruler of the synagogue. And falling at Jesus' feet, he implored Him to come to his house,
42 for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. As Jesus went, the people pressed around Him.

45 And Jesus said: “Who was it that touched Me?” When all denied it, Peter said: “Master, the crowds surround You and are pressing in on You!”
46 But Jesus said: “Someone touched Me, for I perceive that power has gone out from Me".

While Jesus is accompanying him to his house, a woman who has been suffering from a blood issue for 12 years, touches the robe of Jesus, trusting that she will be healed by His power. Jesus tells her that her faith has saved her.
